Destination England

Our journey from debt to England…and everything in between!

About

Welcome to my little slice of the blogging pie!  I thought about creating a blog for a while, but never had a topic in mind.  Then my wife mentioned how about blogging about the transitioning from the US to England and all the little steps along the way.

In this I hope to share our financial journey, steps we’ve taken or are going to take for moving back to England, and also the day-to-day mundane things.

“Alright, what’s your story?!”

About just over two years ago I fell in love with a wonderful and amazing woman named Sarah from London, England.  After a trip or two across the pond she moved here and we were married.  Now we have a beautiful four and a half month old baby boy named Connor.

We decided that while America is a great place, we feel drawn to be back on the other side of the world surrounded by family and friends.  I’ve never moved outside of my hometown, so this is a very new experience for me, and one I hope to share with you all.

“Yes but why move back?”

We decided that while America is a great place, we feel drawn to be back on the other side of the world surrounded by family and friends.  If you’ve never travelled abroad before, I recommend it.  When I went to England for the first time, there was a sense of belonging there that went beyond the fact I was there to see Sarah.  It’s a feeling I can’t put into words, other than when you find that place, you just know.   Another big reason is we want Connor to be surrounded by family.  My mother is my only living relative and her health is frail at best.  We really want to have the full family effect for Connor.  Plus it’s the chance to live in another country! How cool is that?!

Bottom Line

I hope that you’ll stick around.  I’ll do my best to update this at least a few times a week.  If you have topic ideas, questions, or whatever, please feel free to contact me. Thanks for the support!
